Shelter Tent Half*...............................................$60.00

Made from instructions based on information from “The Federal Civil War Shelter Tent” by Fred Gaede.  Various “types” of shelter halves were made and issued throughout various times during the War.  Two types of shelter half, one early-war and one late-war, are reproduced by W., W. & Company.

Our reproduction early-war shelter tent half is made from cotton drill and follows a three-paneled construction.  This tent features machine-sewn seams and felling, hand-sewn grommets, buttonholes and corner reinforcements, 23 bone buttons, hemp or manila tent peg loops and guy-line, and our maker stamp on an inside corner of the tent.  Period maker stamps will be available soon.  Each tent measures 66” long by 63” wide when complete.

Our reproduction mid-war style is made from cotton duck with linen corner reinforcements and follows a two-panel construction.  This tent features machine-sewn seams, felling and corner reinforcements, hand-sewn grommets and buttonholes, 23 bone buttons, hemp or manila tent peg loops and guy-line, and our maker stamp on an inside corner of the tent.  Period maker stamps will be available soon.  Each tent measures 66” long by 63” wide when complete.

*Both styles manufactured by W., W. & Company represent a “common use” tent because of the wide variety of sizes and features and are not necessarily reproductions of an individual original tent half.
